Road Trip Series Wanders Backroads of America

January 20th, 2006 · No Comments

Janson Media today announced the release to worldwide television, DVD and new media markets of RARE VISIONS & ROADSIDE REVELATIONS (54 x 30′), a long-running, award-winning series which seeks out the world of the visionary arts, and in a road show format, brings the artists and their artwork to television viewers worldwide. Along the way, this offbeat television series mixes in a panoply of odd and unusual roadside attractions. RARE VISIONS is not just a show about art, it’s a show about the forgotten backroads of America and the stories they tell. It’s a show about real people, authentic people. It’s a show that celebrates human creativity. RARE VISIONS is hosted by a trio of restless and witty road-trippers, known to their loyal viewers only as Randy, Mike, and Don the Camera Guy — the self-proclaimed “TV Weasels.”

RARE VISIONS travels from coast to coast to find the odd and unusual. Visit Fred Smith’s Concrete Park and the Mt. Horeb Mustard Museum in Wisconsin, the Grotto of the Redemption in Iowa; Carhenge in Nebraska, Wyoming’s Fossil House, and North Dakota’s Enchanted Highway. The TV Weasels introduce their viewers to Iowa’s Planet Garbage, Kentucky’s Wigwam Village, and New Jersey’s Luna Park. And the Texas roadtrip includes Houston’s Art Car Parade, Ed Clark’s Christmas House and of course, the famed Toilet Seat Art Museum.

RARE VISIONS & ROADSIDE REVELATIONS (54 x 30′), was produced by the U.S. public television station KCPT-TV of Kansas City, and has aired to growing audiences since 1998, with six new episodes produced yearly. It is now available to worldwide television, VOD, mobile, IPTV and DVD markets exclusively from Janson Media.
