“Impossible Spy” Begins Screening Season

January 6th, 2007 · No Comments

Janson Media’s feature film, The Impossible Spy, has begun a season of festival and digital theater screenings. The film’s executive producer Harvey Chertok is touring with the film to provide commentary and lead panel discussions in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Six-Day War between Israel and four Arab nations. The film, now available on DVD, was produced in 1987 for the BBC and HBO, and stars John Shea and Eli Wallach. It tells the amazing story of the Mossad double-agent Elie Cohen, Israel’s national hero, whose amazing mission to Syria in the 1960s played a vital role in the outcome of the 1967 Six-Day War.

The film opened its 40th anniversary tour December 5th at the Jewish Film Festival in Palm Beach, Florida, and will screen tomorrow, January 7th, in Spring Valley, New York at the Finkelstein Memorial Library’s Fielding Room. In February, Chertok travels to Washington DC to join a panel discussion after a digital screening at the International Spy Museum. Additional screenings will be announced soon at film festivals in Baltimore, Minneapolis and Seattle.
