IMAX® Film About Siegfried & Roy Now Available in HDTV

January 11th, 2007 · No Comments

Janson Media today announced the release of Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Box to worldwide television markets. This one-hour documentary, narrated by Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins, explores a world of sensational mystery and magic with the world’s greatest illusionists. Siegfried and Roy take viewers from their record-breaking Las Vegas show to their home, a wildlife sanctuary where they romp freely with their world-famous white tigers and lions. The film has been converted to the High-Definition (HDTV) Format.

Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Box premiered in September 1999 in Los Angeles to a VIP audience, followed by premieres in New York, Munich, Berlin, Tokyo, Montreal and Toronto. Filmed before Roy’s injury, the IMAX® 3-D film traces the tough years Siegfried & Roy experienced growing up. It tells the stories of Siegfried’s fascination with magic, Roy’s love of animals, and how they used these escapes to cope with a homeland and fathers traumatized by the war. The film also recounts their chance meeting while both were working on a cruise ship, leading to a partnership that would make entertainment history. “Their story tells you if you dream big enough and hard enough, anything can happen,” says director Brett Leonard.

Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Box was directed by Brett Leonard, and written by Brett Leonard and Lyn Vaus. The film is now available exclusively from Janson Media for worldwide television licensing.
