“Chef’s Story” to Premiere Across Southeast Asia

January 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Janson Media today announced that its cooking series, Chef’s Story, has been licensed to Asian Food Channel (AFC) for a pan-regional satellite viewership that spans the territories of Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong and India. Chef’s Story is a 26-part series that brings together 27 extraordinary chefs to tell their story of culinary accomplishments and how they got to the top. Each half-hour episode is filmed before a live audience at the French Culinary Institute in New York, and focuses on a master chef whose life, work, and evolution as a food legend is thoroughly explored. Each chef shares personal and professional reminiscences and demonstrates cooking techniques. Chef’s Story was produced by Full Plate Media and SoHo Culinary Productions for KQED-TV in San Francisco. The series recently premiered on PBS stations across the United States, and is available exclusively from Janson Media for international television, VOD, DVD/Video, and New Media markets.

The Asian Food Channel is the first and only regional Asian food TV channel in the region, a pay channel that provides a mix of both Eastern and Western programs in a variety of formats. It was launched in mid-2005 into multiple territories across the region starting with the world’s windows into Asia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Going beyond just pretty pictures, AFC commissioned high quality programs and is currently working to produce programs that would delight its viewers. With rich programming from across the region, AFC features shows crafted by individuals who know their country and its secrets well and want to share them with its viewers.

Janson Media is an independent content distribution company based in the United States, with a rights portfolio of over 1,200 hours of exclusive programming available for licensing to worldwide television, DVD/video, and emerging VOD and broadband companies.
