Janson Media today announced that Richard Bangs, renowned travel author and host of the adventure series, Richard Bangs’ Adventures with Purpose, received the First Place Prize for Best Travel Book of 2007 by the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA). Bangs won for his book, Adventures With Purpose, the companion piece to his program, Egypt: Quest for Lord of the Nile. Richard Bangs, often called “the father of modern adventure travel,” has spent 30 years as an explorer, leading first descents of 35 rivers around the globe, including the Yangtze in China and the Zambezi in Southern Africa. Richard Bangs’ Adventures with Purpose (2 x 60′) is a new HDTV series of adventure travel, eco-conscious, and historical documentaries.
