Janson Media today announced the DVD release of The Great American West. Filmed for release in IMAX® and other Giant Screen theaters, The Great American West chronicles the major events that contributed to the settlement of the western frontier.
Using the stories and words taken from diaries and letters of real people, this film shows the astonishingly beautiful scenery of the American West with accounts of the true and often heart-wrenching stories of those who risked everything to explore and settle it. This film chronicles the major events that contributed to the settlement of the western frontier beginning with the Louisiana Purchase and ending in 1890 when the U.S. Census Bureau declared that there was no more frontier; for it had been settled. The Great American West is narrated by the late Jason Robards, one of the few to accomplish the 'Triple Crown of acting' winning a Emmy, Oscar, and a Tony award.
Full of sweeping scope and wondrous panorama, The Great American West revels in the magnificent scenery of the region. The photography is nothing short of spectacular, delivering thrilling life size moments of splendor that most cameras simply cannot capture.
