In Beyond Narnia, enter the mind of the genius who created a fantastic world of magical beings and enchanted happenings. See where C.S. Lewis lived, worked and imagined The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Magician"s Nephewand other tales that make up The Chronicles of Narnia.

Filmed in Oxford, England—from award-winning director Norman Stone, C.S. Lewis : Beyond Narnia tells the dramatic story of the spiritual journey taken by the author of the beloved series of books for family audiences. Lewis began life as a Christian, became a vocal and committed atheist for most of his youth and early manhood, and then, in his thirties, went through a startling transformation that brought him to full faith in Christ. In this film Lewis, played by Anton Rodgers, looks back with humor and candid emotion on the events that shaped and influenced him.

Dramatic recreations, filmed in Lewis"s home - The Kilns, and the Oxford where he lived for most of his life, are woven together with commentary from family, friends, and experts, who provide many fascinating and moving insights. The climax of the Odyssey Networks production is the wrenching struggle Lewis faced in his early sixties when his faith was shaken to its foundations by the death of his beloved wife, Joy Davidman (played by Diane Venora), after only three years of marriage. With searing honesty he tells of his despair, anger, and ultimate reconciliation with the God in whom he had placed his trust for so many years.
