Documentary Series 'Discoveries... Vietnam' Released Worldwide

Janson Media today announced the release of the HDTV documentary series Discoveries... Vietnam (2 x 60') to worldwide Television, VOD, New Media, and Non-Theatric markets. Discoveries Vietnam explores some of the most beautiful and magical parts of Vietnam, while experiencing the people, culture, and history of the enchanting country.

Episode 1 of Discoveries... Vietnam: A 21^st Century Awakening, is the first in a 2 part series about Vietnam in the 21^st Century. The production team traveled from the Mekong Delta in the south to the Chinese border in the north capturing life in Vietnam. The focus is how the country has re-invented itself , emerging from economic chaos to a significant player on the world stage and particularly in Asia. Their economic growth rate at 7+% is one of the best in the world and there"s no end in sight. Add to that a tourism industry that is growing from 7 to 10% a year and all the ingredients of a 21^st century &'rush for &'tourism gold&' is happening right now and will continue so for the foreseeable future.

In Episode 2: Discoveries... Vietnam: Rice Baskets to World Heritage, the series visits farmers during rice harvest & tells the story of how this country has transformed in the 21^st century from famine to feast. Plus markets, markets and more markets and the historic city of Hue. Farm women in the field take a moment from their back breaking labor to sing our production team a song, talk about the harvest and how hard they"re working. A bright and witty young guide in Bac Ha takes the camera on a personal tour of rice fields where she grew up, to a remote mountain village of Can Cau to a weekly market. A unique experience since nearly everyone there belongs to one of the minority Mong tribes who are a remarkable contrast to their &'Viet&' countrymen.

For several decades they worked for ABC News, 20/20 & PrimeTime, NBC Dateline, CBS 60 Minutes and PBS as a location production team and in addition, this rather laid back but dynamic pair also filmed & hosted ESPN"s Fly Fishing Video Magazine for many years.
