DVD Delivers an Authentic Civil War Experience to Nordic Viewers

Janson Media announced today that it has licensed the feature length documentary Gettysburg and Stories of Valor to SunTower Communications of Sweden. The agreement was reached at last week's MIPTV Conference in Cannes with the hopes to expand SunTower's educational content within the company's growing DVD and VOD business in Scandinavia. The title is available as a 2-disc set (1 x 180&'²) with extra features, as well as a &'Public Television Edition&' (1 x 56&'²), featuring the edited version of the documentary which aired nationwide on PBS stations.

Narrated by Keith Carradine, Gettysburg and Stories of Valor - Public Television Edition contains 12 unique stories focusing on one of the most exciting periods in United States history, America"s Civil War. Gettysburg and Stories of Valor covers the Battle of Gettysburg with episodes including Colonel Strong Vincent"s defense of Little Round Top; the &'hallowed ground&' of Gettysburg National Cemetery including the grave of President Nixon"s great grandfather; the mysterious Devil"s Den photographs; General Winfield Scott Hancock"s injury and presidential campaign/ and Confederate General Lewis Armistead"s secret distress call.

Disc 2 focuses on additional heroic and tragic moments in the Civil War such as: brutality at the Dead Line in Andersonville Prison; loss of charismatic Brigadier General Alexander Hays; medical and surgical history of the war; the Confederate President; and the explosion at Allegheny Arsenal.
