India Celebrates Its Republic Day
January 26th marks a monumental day in India's national history. While modern India celebrates its independence on August 15th, the country did not formally become a republic that was no longer under British rule until January 26, 1950, a day now known as Republic Day. That was the day that India relinquished the Government of India Act of 1935 and officially adopted the Constitution of India. Since permanently making the transition from a British Dominion to a republic, India has grown to become a mecca for spirituality, religion, and culture. The Janson Media series Discoveries... India (3 x 60'), filmed in High Definition and produced by Bennett-Watt Productions, captures the very best of India's diverse heritage.
In Discoveries... India viewers can explore small villages and meet the rural population which comprises more than 70% of India. This is a cultural experience that most people never have a chance to see. Discoveries...India begins its journey of exploration in the country capital of Delhi, then travels to the desert state of Rajasthan, Agra and the Taj Mahal, Varanasi and the sacred waters of the Ganges. The three-episode series takes us through India's greatest attractions including The Golden Triangle, Land of the Mahajaras, and Rural Treasures.
Discoveries... India is available exclusively from Janson Media, for television, VOD and new media markets worldwide.
