Janson Media and Prowalk Tours Announce Joint Venture
Tappan, NY and Centralia, Washington… March 19, 2026… Janson Media, a leading independent distributor of premium factual and lifestyle programming, and Prowalk Tours, a leading YouTube travel brand and channel owner, today announced a production and distribution partnership under which Janson Media will adapt and distribute Prowalk Tours content for television and digital streaming platforms worldwide.
Janson’s original productions department will work with Prowalk Tours to re-produce the content into formats designed for television and streaming platforms. The independent studio will bring its decades-long expertise in television and documentary film production to bear on the Prowalk catalog. For lean-back viewers expecting a more traditional television format, Janson will produce documentary versions with off-camera narrations to impart a sense of the history and culture of each location.
Janson Media’s distribution arm will distribute newly released Prowalk Tours content to new audiences beyond YouTube, expanding its global viewership to include broadcast and FAST channels, and AVOD, SVOD, and TVOD digital streaming platforms.
In the last decade, Prowalk Tours has built a dedicated worldwide following with its high-quality, real-time walking tours of iconic cities, cultural landmarks, and hidden destinations around the world. The content is known for its cinematic visuals, authenticity, and immersive storytelling — qualities that align strongly with growing global demand for experiential, non-scripted travel and lifestyle programming.

The partnership reflects a broader industry trend in which successful digital creators are increasingly crossing over into traditional and streaming television distribution. By leveraging Janson Media’s longstanding relationships with broadcasters and platforms worldwide, Prowalk Tours will gain access to new revenue streams and audiences while continuing to grow its presence on YouTube independently.

Prowalk Tours was recently profiled by the Wall Street Journal in an article by Matthew Kronsberg called These Travel Videos Have No Host, No Voiceover—and They’re Addictive.
“Wherever you watch the videos, headphones are key to fully appreciating Harjo’s walks. He records them with sensitive binaural microphones, which have the ability to pick up sounds exactly the way you’d hear them if you were in that place yourself. I love catching snippets of a passing conversation or the chirping of an unfamiliar bird,” said Kronsberg.
“When there’s no narration, people stop listening and start noticing,” said Harjo. “They notice how the street sounds, and how the people move, and how the light changes. They’re not being talked to. They’re immersed in it.”
Janson Media’s production teams will commence post-production in Q2 2026, and expect to make the first titles available to its platform and channel partners in Q3 2026.
The Prowalk catalog comprises over 1,400 hours of video, and is growing weekly. Virtually all of the content has been produced in Ultra High Definition and using Binaural Audio. More recent projects include 360 degree VR tours, as well as drone tours and cycling tours. The catalog may also form the basis for one or more FAST channels dedicated to the “Slow TV” experiential travel genre. Janson Media already owns and maintains six FAST channels across various content genres and is developing several more.
