Janson Media Announces MIPCOM Slate

Janson Media today announced its slate of programming for MIPCOM 2006 to be held in Cannes, October 9th through 13th. The company is at MIPCOM for the 18th consecutive year, exhibiting alongside other U.S. independents at Stand #R30.18, in the Riviera Annex of the Palais des Festivals.

The company brings a collection of eleven Giant Screen Films to the market, documentary specials which have met with success on the IMAX theatrical circuit around the world in recent years. Titles in the collection, available for television for the first time, include VIKINGS, GREAT NORTH, GOLD FEVER, MEXICO, OCEAN MEN: EXTREME DIVE, SIEGFRIED & ROY: THE MAGIC BOX, STRAIGHT UP! HELICOPTERS IN ACTION, VOLCANOES OF THE DEEP SEA, and SKYDANCE, among others. All are available in HDTV format. Other HDTV specials now available from the company include David Fortney"s TIMELESS: A NATIONAL PARKS ODYSSEY, and CHRONOS, one of the most famous Special Venue Films of all time, an unprecedented cinematic journey across the worlds of natural beauty and manmade monuments, now available to worldwide DVD markets as a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD release.

JIM KNOX"S WILD ZOOFARI (13 x 30&'²) is an original, live-action children"s wildlife conservation series filmed at the world"s premier zoos and aquariums and in the wild. It is the only wildlife series to earn the written endorsement of the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums).

The company brings a new one-hour docudrama to Cannes, HEROES & MIRACLES OF 9/11, which tells the inspirational stories of people who somehow survived the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Another Grizzly Adams-produced docudrama distributed by the company, PORTRAIT OF COURAGE, tells the incredible story of United Airlines Flight #93.

Janson"s music slate ranges from country to jazz to alternative rock, and now includes five HDTV specials — KENNY ROGERS: THE JOURNEY, NEAL MCCOY LIVE!, 3 DOORS DOWN: AWAY FROM THE SUN, HIP HOP LIFE, and THE ULTRA DANCE MUSIC FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE, as well as the jazz concert series LIVE FROM VIENNA.

Janson Media is also set to announce the worldwide release of the 3-disc DVD set THE VATICAN MUSEUMS, produced by the Edizioni Musei Vaticani, and the company will also make available for the first time to worldwide DVD markets THE HOLLYWOOD COLLECTION, 28 one-hour biographies and retrospectives of classic Hollywood movie stars. Another new release, XAVIER: THE MISSIONARY, is a one-hour documentary special produced for the 450th anniversary of St. Francis Xavier"s birth. It features interviews with several renowned scholars of Jesuit and Renaissance history and is narrated by actor Liam Neeson.
