Janson Media Closes Multiple Deals in Wake of MIPTV 2005

JANSON MEDIA today announced that it has closed a variety of deals both at MIPTV 2005 in April in Cannes, and in the weeks following the market. Over 100 hours were sold into the Republic of China, to distributor Beijing NSH, including the series CARTOONING WITH BLITZ (101 x 30') and XTREME MYSTERIES (104 x 30'). BLITZ was also licensed to pay-tv channel UBC in Thailand. The company"s new HDTV environmental-adventure doc, WATER"S JOURNEY, was licensed to USHUAIA in France and Odisea in Spain, and several of its WHEN NATURE STRIKES BACK weather-disaster specials found broadcast homes with M6 in France, MTV Oy in Finland, and RTL-TVi in Belgium. Current affairs doc SPIRIT OF THE MOUNTAINS: THE SNOW LEOPARD was sold to ZDF in Germany and Odyssee in France. The company"s primetime fashion series, FULL FRONTAL FASHION: TOP TEN (26 x 30'), was licensed to a variety of clients, including CHUM in Canada, Discovery India, Globosat in Brazil, and cable channels in Korea and Thailand. Hot new cooking series JACQUES PEPIN"S FAST FOOD MY WAY (26 x 30') will be part of the launch schedule of the Southeast Asian satellite network Asian Food Channel. Packages of the company"s HOLLYWOOD COLLECTION of classic movie-star bios and restrospectives were licensed to Astral"s MoviePix Channel in Canada, the UK"s History Channel, and Spain"s Arait TV.
DISCOVERIES AMERICA, an HDTV travelogue series of one-hour portraits of all 50 states, found a pay-tv home in Italy and paranormal series UFOS UNDER INVESTIGATION (13 x 60') was sold to Studio U7 in Russia. The company"s one-hour docudrama GETTYSBURG: THE BOYS IN BLUE & GRAY, was licensed to TV Catalunya. VENICE BEACH: LOST & FOUND, a stylish new history doc, was even found by Czech Television. Janson Media also closed DVD licensees in several territories for its new one-hour documentary special BREAKING THE DA VINCI CODE, including France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hungary, and Greece, and the company expects to sign DVD deals in the UK, Germany and Australia in the coming weeks.
