Janson Media to Bring Bob Ross to Digital Platforms Worldwide

Janson Media and Bob Ross, Inc. today announced an agreement that will see the television and digital content distributor introduce The Joy of Painting, the most-recognized, most-watched TV art show in history, to digital platforms worldwide. The series has already begun its rollout on Amazon Instant Video and Amazon Prime, and will soon debut on Hulu and iTunes.

You've see Bob Ross before. He is the soft-spoken guy painting happy clouds, mountains, trees in about 26 television minutes, using big housepainting-type brushes and encouraging his audiences with his gentle reminder, 'you can do it.' A native of Orlando, Florida, Bob began painting when he joined the Air Force and stationed in Alaska. He has become a cult figure to various age groups all around the world. His first Joy of Painting show aired in 1982. Since then, a total of 404 episodes have been produced and continue to air on television networks and channels worldwide, making The Joy of Painting the most popular art show of all time. Millions of viewers agree that his quiet, nurturing disposition is a form of therapy for the weary, and his respect for nature and wildlife has helped environmental awareness.

Janson Media will manage the Bob Ross Youtube channel. The channel also becomes part of the Janson Media MCN (Multi-Channel Network) on Youtube, and has already grown from about 5,000 subscribers to over 100,000 in only eight months under Janson's management.
