Jonathan Roumie Narrates New Biopic about Father Flanagan
March 5, 2025...Tappan, NY... Janson Media announced today the release of Heart of a Servant: The Father Flanagan Story, the inspirational story of the famous and saintly Catholic priest. The feature-length film, narrated by actor Jonathan Roumie, is now available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime after a successful natiaonwide theatrical release in October 2024.
Father Edward J. Flanagan is perhaps best known as the founder of Boys Town and for being portrayed by Spencer Tracy in the 1938 Oscar-winning Boys Town film. But this is actually the middle of his story. Heart of a Servant reveals the full picture of Father Flanagan’s life and the challenges he overcame to provide abandoned and orphaned children with an opportunity to thrive. He responded to the most pressing questions of his era regarding at-risk youth with answers that were blind to color or creed. He is now on the path to sainthood in the Catholic Church.
To bring Father Flanagan’s story to life, the Chicago-based Spirit Juice Studios partnered with the Father Flanagan League and traveled the world to interview Flanagan family members, friends, clergy, historians, and others who could speak to his remarkable contributions and legacy. His cause for sainthood is currently being considered by the Vatican. Read more about the film in this recent Catholic News Agency article.
