New Documentary is a Rhapsodic History of the Bicycle
Janson Media today announced the release of the feature-length documentary, Bicycle: A Great British Movement (1 x 86') to worldwide television, VOD, and digital markets.
BAFTA Award-winning director and keen cyclist Michael B. Clifford tells the story of cycling in the land that invented the modern bicycle, tracking its birth, decline and re-birth from Victorian origins to today. The film asks the question: why is the bicycle back in fashion? It weaves bicycle design, sport and transport through the retelling of some iconic stories, and features interviews with such notable contributors Sir Dave Brailsford, Gary Fisher, Chris Boardman, Ned Boulting, Sir Chris Hoy, Tracy Moseley, Mike Burrows and many more. Bicycle is a humorous, lyrical and warm reflection on the sport of cycling and the bicycle's place in the British national psyche. A one-hour television version of the film is in post-production.
Broadcaster and writer Ned Boulting called the film, 'lyrical, affectionate, beautiful. A hymn of praise to a humble wonder... the bicycle.'
Production of the film was supported by Trek, Shimano, the Bicycle Association and the Birmingham Cycle Revolution. Visit the Bicycle webpage in the Janson Media Rights Portfolio for more information, or the film's official website.
Janson Media clients may watch Bicycle in its entirety in the Janson Media Screening Room.
