New HDTV Series Interviews Legendary Chefs

Janson Media today announced the release of Chef's Storyto television markets worldwide. This new half-hour series was filmed before a live audience at the French Culinary Institute in New York, and is hosted by Dorothy Cann Hamilton. Each episode is structured around the life, culinary roots and work of a world-renowned master chef, and will provide a unique glimpse of his/her evolution as a culinary legend. The cooking luminaries featured are José Andrés, Dan Barber, Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless, David Bouley, Daniel Boulud, Anthony Bourdain, Tom Colicchio, Cat Cora, Robert Del Grande, Todd English, Dean Fearing, Bobby Flay, Suzanne Goin, Thomas Keller, Patrick O'Connell, Charlie Palmer, Jacques Pépin, Michel Richard, Alain Sailhac, Arun Sampanthavivat, Marcus Samuelsson, André Soltner, Jacques Torres, Charlie Trotter, Norman Van Aken, and Jean Georges Vongerichten. Chef's Story brings together this extraordinary group of chefs into a single spirited series and offers a unique collection of personal reminiscences and culinary triumphs. Each episode explores the featured chef's culinary roots, influences, and seminal cooking experiences. We discover how their signature dishes evolved, observe their favorite techniques, and learn a secret or two that will surprise us. In the commodious kitchen/theater of the French Culinary Institute before an audience of culinary students, the artistry of our master chefs comes to life. In addition to the exploration of each chef's life and influences, we watch them prepare a signature dish that they've chosen to demonstrate to the live audience of students and to the home audience of television viewers. Chef's Story was produced by Full Plate Media and SoHo Culinary Productions for KQED-TV in San Francisco. The series premiered this month on PBS stations across the United States, and is now available exclusively from Janson Media for worldwide television, DVD/video and new media licensing.
