On Katrina Anniversary, Janson Media Series Raises Awareness of Natural Disasters

Four years ago on August 29, 2005, the United States Gulf Coast region fell victim to one of the largest national disasters in the country's history. Peaking at a Category 5, Hurricane Katrina swept along the coast from Florida to Texas, killing almost 2,000 people and leaving nearly 100 billion in damage. The storm caused the most damage to New Orleans - flooding nearly 80% of the city and in turn leaving thousands of residents displaced, some permanently.
