Paul Newman, a Hollywood Icon

Today, January 26th, Janson Media celebrates of the birthday of a Hollywood icon, Paul Newman. Less than a year since his passing, we pay homage to the storied career of a man that brought so much to the big screen and lived to transcend beyond acting to become quite the multifaceted figure.

Actor, director, humanitarian, Academy Award winner, political activist, legend, and blue eyes are all words used to describe Paul Leonard Newman. In the historical Janson Media documentary film, The Making of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, viewers can enjoy a different side of Newman seen through his rare off-camera commentary during the making of the highly successful film.

Long before the production of 'Making of...' documentaries became ubiquitous during film shooting, intended to be used later as DVD Extras, Director George Roy Hill and writer William Goldman had the foresight to film a one of the earliest of this genre, about the making of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, one of the most iconic films of the modern era. The stories told off-camera by director George Roy Hill, actors Paul Newman and Robert Redford, and writer William Goldman offer a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the making of the classic western about the lives of two of America's most famous outlaws.

The Making of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1 x 43&'²) was produced in 1970. As the result of a recently-signed, exclusive long-term distribution agreement between Janson Media and the Yale University Film Archives, the film is now available to worldwide television, VOD, and New Media markets.
