Remembering Anthony Quinn

Today April 21st, Janson Media honors Hollywood icon Anthony Quinn on what would have been his 95th birthday. Quinn's career in film was admirable, starring in such successful films as Zorba the Greek and The Guns of Navarone, and winning two Academy Awards for his supporting roles in Viva Zapata! and Lust for Life. However it was his impact as a Mexican American breaking down racial barriers for typecasted actors that really left a mark on Hollywood. After being stereotyped in countless roles as Mexican bandits, Indian warriors, Oriental villains and Arab princes, Anthony Quinn confounded Hollywood by turning his back on a career as character actor. Instead, by going his own way, he became an internationally acclaimed Academy Award-winning star.
