St. Baldrickrdquo;s Foundation and Producers of 'Jingle Hell' Movie Announce Holiday Promotion

This holiday season, the St. Baldrick"s Foundation and the producers of the independent film Jingle Hell, in conjunction with the film"s distributor Janson Media, are teaming up to raise money for kids" cancer research. With each purchase of a Jingle Hell DVD directly from Janson Media, Amazon.com or Amazon Instant Video, the producers will donate the entire portion of their royalties to the St. Baldrick"s Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research. The film is available for purchase online through Janson Media and Amazon. Jingle Hell is a witty and stylish comedy about the Fitzgerald family, a large Irish Catholic clan from New York, who have all returned home for the holidays. The gathering turns out to be a far cry from the picture-postcard Currier & Ives Christmas anyone had in mind. This year the matriarch of the family, Peg Fitzgerald, wants Christmas to be different. She"s thrown away the television set, leaving five grown children, four significant others, three fighting siblings, two grandchildren, and Seamus, her TV-loving husband, with nothing to do but actually act like a family for an entire holiday weekend. &'One of the storylines in our film is that of a pediatric oncologist who, at Christmas, is questioning whether he makes a difference,&' said Carter Anne McGowan, producer and co-screenwriter of Jingle Hell. &'We always thought that somehow we could use that storyline to do something positive with the film as a whole and teaming up with St. Baldrick"s gives us that opportunity. Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and it remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. St. Baldrick"s funds are critical to continue the battle against this devastating disease. It"s the season of giving, so do your part. About the St. Baldrick"s Foundation The St. Baldrick"s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. St. Baldrick"s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, a child"s best hope for a cure. Since the Foundation"s first grants as an independent charity in 2005, St. Baldrick"s has funded more than $76 million in childhood cancer research.
