The United States Celebrates Hawaiian Admission Day
Today, August 21st represents a significant day in American history, Hawaiian Admission Day, celebrating Hawaii's admission to the Union 50 years ago. While the most recently unionized state is not located on the continent of North America, it has cemented its 'paradise' appeal in the hearts of Americans, becoming one of the biggest tourist attractions in the country. Four episodes taken from the Janson Media series, Travel with Kids, explore the beauty of the states five main islands: Oahu, Kauai, the Big Island, Maui and Molakai.
Produced by Equator Creative Media, Travel With Kids features two kid brothers and their parents (the Roberts Family) traveling to well-known, and off the tourist track destinations in various hot spots. The series is both entertaining and educational, yet delivers practical travel information that is interesting and useful for families planning a trip, and armchair travelers alike. In addition to travel tips, the bonus features on the Travel With Kids DVDs include tons of activities to get the family excited for the adventure or to take a virtual trip from home... recipes and movie recommendations to re-create the destination in your home, craft ideas, language lessons, expanded videos and more!
