There's No Time Like 'Christmas Present'

As we approach this holiday weekend, many of us are looking forward to some much needed downtime with our families. There's nothing like warming up with our loved ones to a warm fire with a hot beverage on a white Christmas. For a little entertainment we highly recommend a fittingly themed indie comedy titled Christmas Present (1 x 100'). Starring James Brennan, Lisa Gunn, Annette Hunt, Pete Barker, and Robert J. Hamilton, Christmas Present is a stylish feature about the Fitzgeralds, a family struggling to make it to Mom and Dad"s house for the holidays, bringing all of their problems home with them. They soon realize they have gathered for a holiday that turns out to be a far cry from the picture-postcard Currier & Ives Christmas anyone had in mind. This side splitting title just might inspire you to appreciate your own family this Christmas.

Christmas Present is a witty relationship film produced and directed by indie filmmaker Carter McGowan of Long Island, and has been favorably compared with the Hollywood studio movie, Dan in Real Life. The story takes place during a &'welcome-home&' Christmas weekend with the Fitzgeralds, a large Irish-Catholic clan from Long Island. At first glance, viewers will notice the typical joys and pains that come along with family holidays. The wreath on the door, the ornaments on the tree, the cookies burning in the oven... the grown children struggling to make it to Mom and Dad"s house for the holidays, bringing all of their problems home with them. However this year, Peg Fitzgerald has taken a drastic step; she"s thrown away the television set, leaving five grown children, four significant others, three fighting siblings, two grandchildren, and Seamus, her TV-loving husband, with nothing to do but actually act like a family for an entire holiday weekend.
