Award-Winning 'Minds In The Water' Film Expands International Reach with Nat Geo Adventure Deal

Janson Media today announced that National Geographic Channels International has acquired the documentary Minds in the Water: A Surfer's Journey from Apathy to Activism (1 x 60'). The inspirational film started airing on Nat Geo Adventure in April 2013 in Australia, New Zealand and Asian territories. The award-winning tale about a daring surfer's evolution to wildlife activist has already received critical acclaim from the likes of Surfer Magazine and The Huffington Post.

Minds in the Water is a documentary following the quest of professional surfer Dave Rastovich and his friends to protect dolphins, whales and the oceans they all share. Through Dave"s journey—a five-year adventure spanning the globe from Australia to the Galapagos, Tonga, California, Alaska and Japan—we see one surfer"s quest to activate his community to help protect the ocean and its inhabitants.

An epic tale of one man"s transformation from apathy to activism that is both beautifully and brilliantly directed and narrated by Justin Krumb and written by longtime Surfer magazine editor Steve Barliotti. The film emphasizes the duty of each individual to take a stand and is an empowering effort for all concerned citizens to become involved in the protection of the world"s oceans.

According to Surfers For Cetaceans ambassador and pro-surfer Chris Del Moro, who joined the crew in a sailing mission down the coast of Australia to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the threats facing migrating humpback whales, &'The global collective of surfers and human beings and groups around the world can really step up and aid in this whole process. It"s not just about Dave, it"s about everyone.&'
