Janson Media announced today that it had entered into a relationship with Google Video to make its DVD Catalog available to consumers as downloadable files from the internet. The company has placed an initial list of over 140 titles on Google Video, at prices range from $4.99 to $14.99 for &'download-to-own&' rights. &'We will be making our new releases available on Google Video concurrent with a title"s street date,&' said Stephen Janson, president of Janson Media. The company has acquired the exclusive Electronic Sell-Through (EST) rights to all properties in its DVD Catalog, and will work with Google Video and other major online video content portals and websites through its home-entertainment division. &'We see it as a new growth market for our DVD business, and our business model as an exclusive publisher remains the same,&' said Mr. Janson. &'Programs sold to consumers are programs whether the files are on DVD discs or hard drives.&' The company also will post trailers and segments of its programming on Google Video as promotional tools to drive traffic to its website.
