"John Paul the Great" DVD Earns Rave from School Library Journal
Janson Media's new DVD, John Paul the Great: A Pope Who Made History, earned a rave review from School Library Journal in its February 1, 2008 issue. Reviewer Lisa Hubler of Memorial Junior High School in South Euclid, Ohio, wrote, 'The life of Karol Jósef Wojtyla -- from his birth in Poland in 1920 to his election as Pope John Paul II in 1978 to his death in the Vatican 27 years later-- is covered in this informative and comprehensive documentary. It is divided into chapters representing various time periods in his life. Throughout the longest pontificate in the history of the Church, John Paul II demonstrated a compassion and kindness that gained him the admiration of believers of all ages, changing the image of the papacy. The majority of the film focuses on his influence on world events, especially the fall of Russian totalitarianism. This program provides an extraordinary amount of information and would be an excellent choice for libraries seeking to supplement their religious film collections.'
John Paul the Great (1 x 60') was produced by Diana Dorahy, Javier Martinez-Brocal, and Susanna L. Pinto for the Italian production company, Rome Reports. The DVD of the film is available exclusively worldwide from Janson Media.
