Janson Media Announces MIPCOM 2007 Slate

Janson Media today announced its slate of programming for MIPCOM 2007 to be held in Cannes, October 8th through 12th. The company is at MIPCOM for the 19th consecutive year, exhibiting at Stand #R30.18, in the Riviera Annex of the Palais des Festivals. In attendance at the market will be Stephen Janson, Zara Janson, Lynne Warshavsky, and Betsy Van Ost.

The company will introduce two new HDTV travel series to the international markets at MIPCOM, both with pilot episodes complete and in search of both pre-sales and co-production partners. Richard Bangs Travels with Purpose is a new HDTV travel series with a social conscience, starring author Richard Bangs, perhaps the world's best-known adventurer. The one-hour pilot episode Egypt: Quest for the Lord of the Nile complete and will launch the series on U.S. public television stations nationwide. GlobeRiders Silk Road Adventure is an eight-week motorcycle journey from Istanbul, Turkey to Xian, China; its participants crossed the vast deserts of Central Asia, high mountain passes, and through crowded, bustling cities. The initial four one-hour episodes are complete, and further global motorcycle adventures are in development.

Two new documentaries from Grizzly Adams Productions investigate fascinating stories. The Fabric of Time explores new scientific discoveries about the Shroud of Turin and the quest to know for certain if it reveals the true identity of Jesus Christ. The Longevity Secretexplores new research into the science of longevity and an expedition to uncover the remains of an ancient wooden ship high atop Mount Ararat -- Noah"s Ark -- which may hold the long-guarded secret.

Ice Music, Moon Magic tells the story of the Geilo Ice Music Festival and the extraordinary artists that make it happen. In seven days giant blocks of ice are transformed into a stage, and musical instruments are created. The festival culminates in an outdoor, mountaintop concert under the first full moon of the new year.
The Last Ridge: The Uphill Battles of the 10th Mountain Division recounts the true mission impossible of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division during WWII. Lizard Kingsis an educational and entertaining program about how the superlative IMAX documentary Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia came to happen. The host guides you through the different stages of production that lead the film crew to bring Rodolfo Coria's vision to life.
Timeless: A National Parks Odyssey showcases an HDTV mix of aerial, still, and time-lapse photography by award-winning cinematographer David Fortney -- some of the most amazing visuals ever filmed of North American National Parks.

Janson Media also brings two major specials to the market, both filmed and mastered in High-Definition. Racehoss is the incredible and moving life story of Albert Race Sample, an award-winning live performance directed by Sean Hepburn Ferrer. This powerful, one-man show takes viewers on an unforgettable journey of revelation and redemption. A Night in Venice with Nova Era Live is a music special filmed in the historic Palazzo Zenobio in Venice, Italy -- a classical music concert with an exhilarating and contemporary twist, and with the musicians of Nova Era costumed in the Renaissance costumes of 18th-century Venice. The company also brings its Giant Screen Films Collection to the market, fourteen films which have already met with success in IMAX theaters around the world in recent years. New titles in Janson's Giant Screen Films Collection, available for television for the first time, include Mystic India, Kilimanjaro: To the Roof of Africa, and Majestic White Horses. All are now available in HDTV format.

The company also brings two new cooking series to MIPCOM, both currently airing nationwide in the U.S. on public television stations. Chefs A'Field (26 x 30') takes viewers on a glorious culinary journey, to the source of great food, tracing the origins of great meals from the fields, forests, farms and waters of the world. Chef's Story (26 x 30') brings together 27 extraordinary chefs to tell their story of culinary accomplishments and how they got to the top.
