Janson Media Inks Deal with Red Media Group of Moscow

Janson Media has signed a license agreement with the Moscow-based broadcaster Red Media Group for an extensive package of over 100 hours of content for the Russian media company's various new television channels, including 'HD Life,' the first HDTV channel to launch in Russia. Looking to fill slots for this new infotainment channel dedicated to documentaries shot in HD, Red Media acquired Discoveries... America(51 x 60"), a classic chronicle of America's history, people and culture filmed entirely in HDTV and produced by Bennett Watt Entertainment. Other HD content acquired from Janson Media's rights portfolio included Water"s Journey: The Hidden Rivers of Florida, A Night in Venice With Nova Era Live,Jim Knox"s Wild Zoofari, Ultra Music Festival Experience and Discoveries... Ireland. For Red Media"s &'Kitchen TV&' channel, the company purchased several cooking shows from Janson Media's catalog, including Chefs A'Field, a glorious culinary journey to the source of great food, tracing the origins of great meals from the fields, forests, farms and waters of the world, Chef's Story, a 26-part series that brings together 27 extraordinary chefs to tell their story of culinary accomplishments and how they got to the top, and Jacques Pepin: Fast Food My Way, 26 brand new programs featuring Jacques' recipes and valuable quick tips, techniques and stories from his life and the inspirations behind his creations. Red Media Group specializes in the production of thematic niche channels for cable and satellite distribution. In the last 12 months, the company has launched eight thematic channels and has gradually become one of the most important providers of niche television stations in Russia, the Baltic States and other CIS countries, offering viewers a wide selection of the best domestic and foreign films, documentaries, TV series and other informative and entertaining shows.
