Janson Media today announced that its new one-hour biography, Xavier: Missionary & Saint, has been scheduled by public television stations in five of the top-10 television markets across the United States. Including PBS stations such as Dallas, Houston, Detroit and Tampa, which plan to schedule the documentary as part of their Easter programming in April 2008, Xavier will have been aired in markets reaching 65% of U.S. households. Markets in which the program was broadcast during December include Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Washington. A complete list of PBS stations broadcasting the documentary, with tentative airdates, is available here. Xavier: Missionary & Saint (1 x 57) is narrated by Academy Award-winner Liam Neeson. Filmed on location in the footsteps of the Jesuit missionary, Xavier features stunning scenery from Rome, Spain, Paris, India, China, and Japan as well as interviews with world-renowned historians and theologians. The film commemorates the 500th anniversary of the birth of the most successful missionary since St. Paul. PBS is a media enterprise that serves 355 public noncommercial television stations and reaches nearly 73 million people each week through on-air and online content. Bringing diverse viewpoints to television and the Internet, PBS provides high-quality documentary and dramatic entertainment, and consistently dominates the most prestigious award competitions.
