'The Impossible Spy' DVD Earns Critical Acclaim

The Janson Media DVD The Impossible Spy has amassed several favorable reviews since it release. The docudrama is based on the true story of Elie Cohen, an Israeli man whose daring spy mission in 1967 made him a national hero and key figure in Israel's victory in the Six Day War. The film won an ACE Award for Outstanding Score and also garnered three additional ACE Award nominations that same year.

After a screening at The Jewish Film Festival, Naomi Rubin of the Jewish Federation said, 'I was thanked numerous times for bringing 'The Impossible Spy' to our Film Festival. The acting was wonderful. Eli Wallach and John Shea really brought the characters to life. I wish there were more films of this quality out there.'

A customer on Amazon.com said, 'This is an amazing true story about one of history"s greatest spies. And, I love the new Janson Media DVD (Collector"s Edition) of &'The Impossible Spy&' because it includes many important &'extras&' such as critic"s reviews, trailer, and an on-location report featuring behind-the scenes interviews with the stars, John Shea and Eli Wallach about what it is like to be a spy. Also, there"s a very good photo gallery, star filmographies, and a time-line of all the major Arab-Israel conflicts that led up to Elie Cohen"s incredible mission, and how vital it was for the outcome of the June 1967 Six-Day War. The story is exciting and compelling. It"s about an Israeli agent who was sent to Syria, via Argentina, in the 1960"s and was so successful in infiltrating the Syrian High Command, that he was nominated to be their Deputy Defense Minister--and 3rd in line for the Presidency. Unbelievable. And, all true. Also, the new Janson Media DVD looks great when used with a video projector onto a large screen.'

Upon The Impossible Spy's intital television premiere, John J. O'Connor of The New York Times said, 'Still 'The Impossible Spy' - co-produced by Graham Massey and directed by Jim Goddard, who previously collaborated on the mini-series 'Reilly: Ace of Spies' - turns out to be more complex than might be anticipated, compiling a portrait of spies and spying that is as chilling as it is compelling.'
