Two Janson DVDs Earn 3-Star Reviews

In its November/December 2006 issue, Video Librarian Magazine gave three-star reviews to two new Janson Media DVDs, The Silent Wrecks of Kwajalein Island and Tracks Ahead: Great Train Journeys. About The Silent Wrecks, Video Librarian had this to say: 'Jonathan Bird and Art Cohen"s admirable documentary presents this fascinating story, which touches on many areas, including World War II history, ecological research, preservation, and marine biology (the underwater cinematography is spectacular). DVD extras include the bonus documentary Making of a Battle on the Battle of Kwajalein, and a photo gallery. Highly recommended.'

About Tracks Ahead, Video Librarian said, 'This near-two-hour compilation of high-definition-filmed episodes from the fifth season of the public television series Tracks Ahead documents some of the more unique travel-by-rail experiences across the world—12 journeys in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the United States, and Cuba. Great Train Journeys kicks off with a ride on the classy Great South Pacific Express... featuring coaches decorated with custom stained glass and solid wood paneled walls, and staff hired not only for their skills as servers, cooks, and coach attendants, but also for their five-star personalities... Also featured is Mexico"s Copper Canyon, a much more rustic trip in which the main attraction lies in the huge canyon lands outside the window — although the service and cuisine on this train are rated excellent, it"s the natural beauty that attracts riders. Other routes showcased include San Francisco"s Cable Cars, Australia"s Barossa wine country trains, the Chicago to Rocky Mountains Zephyr, and a look at the vintage trains of Cuba. DVD extras include a profile of artist John Bromley, as well as visits to the Baltimore Railroad Club, Idaho"s Silverwood Central Railway, the Kentucky Railroad Museum, the St. Louis Car Company, and New York"s Hell Gate Bridge. Recommended for train aficionados and armchair travelers alike.'
