Open grass plains of southern Maasailand boasts the largest population of Elephants anywhere in Tanzania. Its sparse vegetation, strewn with Baobab and Acacia trees, makes it an incredible location. Referred to by many as the 8th Wonder of the World and 'Eden of Africa,' the crater floor covers over 100 square miles and is 2,000 feet deep. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a vast piece of real estate, covering over 3,200 square miles with the crater. In the final episode, viewers will witness some of the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world, Southern Serengeti: The Serengeti National Park/ Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Serengeti Plain is a vast expanse of east African bush with over 11,500 square miles, and was known as 'Maasailand' named by early explorers for the people who lived in remarkable harmony with the wild animals there.
