Janson Media Announces MIPCOM 2005 Slate

Janson Media today announced its slate of programming for MIPCOM 2005 to be held in Cannes, October 15th through 21st. The company is at MIPCOM for the 17th consecutive year, exhibiting alongside other U.S. independents at Stand #R30.18, in the Riviera Annex of the Palais des Festivals. New primetime television specials include PORTRAIT OF COURAGE: THE UNTOLD STORY OF FLIGHT 93 (1 x 60') a docudrama from Grizzly Adams Productions which tells the incredible story of United Airlines Flight #93 on 9/11, a story that became emblematic of the courage of ordinary Americans and their refusal to be intimidated by terrorists, and THE MIRACULOUS MISSION (1 x 60'), which picks up where the Passion of the Christ leaves off, telling the story of the twelve ordinary men handpicked by Christ to be His disciples.

DANGEROUS WHEN WET (8 x 50') is a new documentary sports action series that takes viewers behind the scenes of the UIM Formula 1 Powerboat Racing Series, as drivers compete for the 2005 World Championship. Formula 1 Powerboat racing is among the world"s most dangerous sports, and this series introduces viewers to an international cast of fearless young men as they race each other and risk their lives in such exotic locales as Portugal, Lake Como, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, India and Saudi Arabia. RARE VISIONS & ROADSIDE REVELATIONS (54 x 30') is a brilliant &'Road Trip&' series which takes viewers on a hilarious quest for the retro, the wildly imaginative and the fast-disappearing Visionary Art that can still be found along the backroads of America. MONEYTRACK (13 x 30') is a new weekly series which educates and inspires viewers to make more informed investment decisions and take control of their finances.
The company also brings the High Plains Films collection of feature documentaries to MIPCOM, including LIBBY, MONTANA (1 x 124') a riveting journey into the world of a hard-working, blue-collar community that lived through an insidious environmental disaster, and THIS IS NOWHERE (1 x 87'), an ironic look at the tens of thousands of American travelers who have made Wal-Mart parking lots into travel destinations. The company is also introducing LINCOLN & LEE AT ANTIETAM: THE COST OF FREEDOM (1 x 87') a brilliant new feature-length HDTV film from award-winning director Rob Child, which tells the story, in docudrama style, of the single most decisive battle of the Civil War. And finally, the company is making its first venture into the genre of reality TV with JOURNEYS OF THE HEART: PERU (8 x 60') a miniseries produced by Concrete Pictures and shot entirely in HDTV. The show"s first season follows a group of ordinary volunteers who travel to an orphanage in Cusco, Peru to donate their time, talents, and considerable energy to improve the lives of over 90 deaf and mute children. A raft of psychological and emotional challenges emerges - unscripted - along the way. This is a socially conscious series about international volunteering that represents a positive direction for reality programming.
