Ocean Channel Licenses Documentary Exploring the Menacing Tick

Janson Media announced today that the Ocean Channel, a regional cable channel owned by Ocean County College of Toms River, New Jersey, has licensed broadcasting rights for its program Ticks: The Real Vampire. Beginning with the first occurrences in the village of Lyme, Connecticut in the 70s, to the identification of the virus in the mid 80s, to the unmasking of borreliosis from tick bites as a true epidemic and the reason behind widespread ailments such as rheumatism, nerve paralysis and heart diseases in the 90s. Next to the Malaria-carrying mosquito, the tick is the most dangerous animal carrier of diseases worldwide. This documentary gets up close and personal with these complex bloodsuckers, following their life cycles in their natural surroundings in Europe and North America. Ticks: The Real Vampire was produced Langbein & Skalnik Media and is now available to international Television, VOD, DVD/Video, Non-Theatrical, and New Media markets, exclusively through Janson Media. For more than 40 years, Ocean County College, a public two-year community college sponsored by Ocean County and the State of New Jersey, has provided area residents with the opportunity to benefit from higher education. As part of its Media relations, OCC provides TV broadcasting to the OCC community of students. Ocean County College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education, Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools.
